2011 Leadville 50 Silver Rush: Sprinting for the Silver Dollar!

Video of the start of the 2011 Leadville 50 Silver Rush.

At the start of the Leadville 50 Silver Rush ultra trail race, I have tried for the Silver Dollar the last three years. The first time I gave it a half-ass attempt. The second time I came within 10 feet. This year the Silver Dollar is mine! I am in the front row on the right-hand side in a red Hawaiian Shirt. It took me over 45 minutes to catch my breath in the 10,000 foot altitude at the

The 2011 Twin Mountain Trudge Turns Epic

I would like to thank Alec Muthig, Josh Fuller, Nate, Josh Artery, Ted, the entire Twin Mountain Trudge Crew who stayed late into the night until I was safe and Search & Rescue. Without all of your help my Epic adventure could have had a very sad ending.

The 2011 Twin Mountain Trudge Turns Epic

Epic is the term that mountain climbers use when they talk about a climb that went wrong. The party got lost, gear was dropped, days being snowbound in a tent, destroyed camps, or even death. This year’s Twin Mountain Trudge turned into an epic day

Hawaiian Shirt Ray’s Cameo Appearance in Sonya Wieck’s 100 Miles of Moab

Hawaiian Shirt Ray’s Cameo Appearance in Sonya Wieck’s 100 Miles of Moab

During this year’s (2010) 24 Hours of Moab and Moab 100, Sonya Wieck was out to run her first 100 mile ultra trail race. Yesterday was the first time that I had seen the video about her 100 mile adventure. During the race, every time that I saw her out on the course she was always smiling and was signing (literally signing). This is a wonderful video showing hers highs and lows during the race and really relates what an ultra trail runner goes through during the course
