When I first started trail running I use to use mountaineering gaiters that had a strap that went under my shoes. This was of course held on by a generous amount of duct tape. Dirty Girl Gaiters solved this issue by sewing on a small hook at the front of the Dirty Girl Gaiter and sewing on a piece of Velcro to the back. The small hook attaches to the front of you shoe laces, and the Velcro in the back attaches to the heal of the shoe. This configuration eliminates the need to have a strap under the shoes.
The loop part of the Velcro is sewn onto the inside heal of the Dirty Girl Gaiters and then you need to apply the hooks part of the Velcro to the heal of your shoe. The secret of applying the hooks to your shoe is to clean the area off with rubbing alcohol and dry it off. The other secret is to cut the corners of the hooks piece so it
