Bear Creek 10-Spot: 10.5 Mile Trail Race
If you are looking for a fun end-of-season local trail race, then the Bear Creek 10-Spot (10.5 miles) trail run is for you. Located at Bear Creek Lake State Park it is an easy drive from all across the Denver Metro Front Range area. The race offers scenic views, single track, and enough climbing to make it challenging.
I’m not Kidding When I Say Fun
I had the privilege and honor to run pretty much the entire race with a Bunny and a Dinosaur. These two guys had so much energy that they shared with the other runners you couldn’t help but have a smile on your face. They were cheering everyone on the entire race with sayings such as “Come on, Get your Bunny on!” and “Bunny UP!” They were whooping it up the entire race and having a great time. If I had any say, I would give them both the “most fun to run with” award.
I Certainly Got my Money Worth
The early registration cost for the Bear Creek 10-Spot was only $19.00. But it was well worth the price of admission. The race was very well organized, the trails were clearly marked (with a money back guarantee that you would not got lost), raffle prizes, and the post race feast was great. It is not too often (if ever) that you actually walk away from a race feeling that you came out ahead. I ended up getting a pair of technical socks, two lip balms, and an entire larger cheese pizza. This is the second year in a row that I have ran the Bear Creek 10-Sopt Trail race, and it is certain that you will see me and my Hawaiian Shirt there again next year.
