A) David, the short answer is that your body’s window to accept carbohydrates after exercise is about 45 minutes, and about 30 minutes for proteins. Depending on how intense your run was and if your are able to eat right afterwards, you should try to eat within these windows. If you happen to miss the windows of opportunity you may find that your recovery will take much longer than normal.
